Planting and irrigation design for the pedestrian walkway in Vasilissis Olgas Avenue, at the centre of Athens. Due to the historical significance of the site, trees (Quercus ilex, Quercus ithaburensis macrolepis, Platanus orientalis, Ceratonia siliqua, a.o.) and shrubs (Acanthus mollis, Juniperus chinensis, Rosmarinus officinalis, Thymus serpyllum, Lavandula angustifolia, a.o.) were selected for their symbolism. Rare species of mature aged trees (Olea europaea, Cupressus sempervirens ‘pyramidalis’, Nerium oleander, and Phoenix canariensis) were planted, in an effort to restore the natural environment and rejuvenate the area.
