Green Roofs – TEI Piraeus
Part of a large-scale renovation project at the Technical University of Piraeus, this bioclimatic design aims to improve microclimatic conditions in the campus area by installing green roofs on three buildings: Building C, the campus kitchen, and a smaller unit opposite the Administration building. Clusters of low-growing herbaceous vegetation arranged in organic patterns are intersected by stone pathways for easier maintenance. We selected mostly native Mediterranean plant species that are highly resilient to strong winds and high temperatures and require little irrigation and maintenance. Our design is fully compliant to the Green Roof Guidelines approved by the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece.
