Our aim was to create a Cycladic-style garden in Psathi, a remote bay in Kea. The outdoor areas were designed to promote interaction, relaxation, and serenity, fostering a harmonious balance between nature and living space. Our approach was inspired by the wild, native vegetation, and features local plants and trees (Olea europaea, Ficus carica, Schinus molle, Ziziphus jujuba, a.o.) that are resilient to salinity and strong winds. The grasses (Oryzopsis miliacea, Pennisetum setaceum, Pennisetum villosum, and Stipa tenuissima) and aromatic plants (Oreganum vulgare, Salvia officinalis, Thymus vulgaris, Rosmarinus officinalis, a.o.) alongside the traditional Cycladic stone paths (kalderimia) add fragrance and texture to the tranquil atmosphere, while the garden has been planted with vegetables, providing food for the kitchen.
